Windows 10 22h2 security update [KB5034441] fails to install with code: 0x80070643 problem was solved for me with reinstallation of Windows 10 using the Media Creation tool . Took about 5 hours . But the security update that has been giving everyone problems downloaded on the second try . I have , over the last 2 days , been checking for updates to see if it really worked and it appears in the control panel as downloaded . I want to thank that guy who suggested that fix . I did not do a clean install . I kept my files and apps

    I love how MS refuses to fix this issue after all this time. I guess we'll have to wait until MS needs this partition for a different update, and then it will fail again 😂. I'm not reinstalling Windows or messing with my storage for this silly thing that they could easily fix on their end

    You can’t enable Windows RE on a bit locked disk.

    That does not mean you can't enable it at all.

    If you cannot enable Windows RE on drive C, it is only one of several options that breaks away. KB5028997 keeps applying, extending the recovery partition otherwise keeps applying.

    If enabling Windows RE is not an option, installing KB5034441 isn't one.

    however when you check the Backup Partition there is a folder called Windows RE and that contains 3 files as follows; Boot.sdi, reagent.xml and winre.wim so it does exist and since there is adequate space I cannot see why the update won't accept

    Enable Windows RE. The update cannot install with Windows RE disabled. It's nice when the image file is present, but it must be in use as well.

    When Windows RE is disabled, it may mean the image file is missing. Are you sure the update should settle for that? :)

    This update is a prompt to fix your recovery environment in case it's broken. Otherwise an entire winre.wim file would have to be included.

    This update actually requires 250 MB of free space in the recovery partition to install successfully. If the recovery partition does not have enough free space, this update will fail. In this case, you receive the following error message: 0x80070643 - ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE
