I've been experiencing an issue with my Philips monitor where the SmartImage feature unpredictably switches to "Racing" mode on its own. Despite manually disabling this setting, it often reactivates itself multiple times until it finally remains off, only to recur upon restarting my PC or monitor. This problem emerged just last week, despite my having used this new PC and monitor setup for nearly a year without any similar issues. I've meticulously reviewed most of the accessible settings without identifying any that could be causing this behavior. Additionally, I've explored the monitor's on-screen menu but found nothing that explains the automatic switch to "Racing" mode, leading me to suspect it might be related to a setting on my PC. However, I've yet to pinpoint exactly what could be triggering this. If anyone has insights or suggestions on how to resolve this, your advice would be immensely valuable. This resetting to racing mode is driving me grazy!
SOmetime I thought I have found a solution which at the end didn't.
Just now I found this article. Implemented it and now I am crossing my fingers
already for about 30 minutes. Still no reset to racing! I'll keep you posted

SORRY, COMING BACK FROM DINER AND FOUND THE ISSUE AGAIN!!!
This solution turned out to be temporary and now does not work. Overnight and without my permission, Windows 11 once again rebooted and installed updates and now the issue started recurring. I uninstalled the updates, but the issue has continued to recur several times per day. If Microsoft does not respond soon with a solution, I will have no recourse but to purchase three new monitors from another manufacturer.
The following isn't a solution, but it has reduced the number of incidents of this horrible issue:: I set my three Philips monitors to NEVER sleep and use a blank screensaver. I don't like doing this as the monitors still put off a faint glow, and I have no idea what this means in terms of power usage, component ware, and power consumption. However, not having this issue surface from sleeping monitor wakeup events helps a little -- Note to Microsoft: This is NOT a solution. Please help.
Great to hear someone seems to have found a solution. My model 346E2CUAE/00 doesn't have G-Sync though, so it isn't even there in the Nvidia Control Panel to begin with. For me the problem is very intermittent, but I'm still considering contacting customer support in my country and try try to get a new monitor or even attempt to get my money back or something. Because being interrupted in ones work like this from the monitor going "haywire", changing its own settings for 2 minutes straight or so at random a handfull of times a day, just isn't acceptable. And seemingly no general fix exist after 2 months of the problem first appearing (according to this thread anyhow). Which is the worst part. But good to hear someone has found a way to fix it. That might mean there is some hope for the rest of us too. We would really need for some expert to find the true root cause of this though.
Lucky you Michael. I don't have a NVidia card so Nvidia Control Panel is no solution for me. I found some registry stuff disabling vertical synch in DirectX. Just rebooted once or twice. The racing issue still here. Shoot. If the racing stuff stays away I will reference the registry stuff.

Possible Solution?
After experiencing this Philips SmartImage racing issue multiple times daily for three consecutive weeks, I made a configuration change that has stopped the issue for ~48 consecutive hours (and running, as of the time of this post). I wanted to wait at least two days before posting back here to make sure what I was seeing was real and not an artifact. On a whim, I opened the NVIDIA Control Panel and disabled G-Sync and rebooted and the problem immediately stopped. I rebooted several times since disabling G-Sync and the SmartImage racing issue has not recurred on my three Philips monitors.
I'm standoffish to call this a solution as I'm just grateful for being able to work for two whole days without this issue interrupting my work. I realize that I could easily enable G-Sync to test whether the issue comes back but to be honest, I'm scared to do that as I don't want to jeopardize this moment of peace.
Can a few other who are using NVIDIA cards and who are also suffering from this issue test to see if they have G-Sync enabled, and if so, try disabling G-Sync and report back as to whether or not the issue goes away? Fingers crossed!
UPDATE 5/3/2024
This solution did not work. Windows rebooted without my permission last night and installed another round of updates, and now the problem has started again even with G-Sync disabled. I uninstalled the unsanctioned new updates and rebooted 2x, but the issue persists.
