I've been experiencing an issue with my Philips monitor where the SmartImage feature unpredictably switches to "Racing" mode on its own. Despite manually disabling this setting, it often reactivates itself multiple times until it finally remains off, only to recur upon restarting my PC or monitor. This problem emerged just last week, despite my having used this new PC and monitor setup for nearly a year without any similar issues. I've meticulously reviewed most of the accessible settings without identifying any that could be causing this behavior. Additionally, I've explored the monitor's on-screen menu but found nothing that explains the automatic switch to "Racing" mode, leading me to suspect it might be related to a setting on my PC. However, I've yet to pinpoint exactly what could be triggering this. If anyone has insights or suggestions on how to resolve this, your advice would be immensely valuable. You should report this to HP and I will do the same. They need to properly fix this. I have a B2B account at HP with some contacts and will try that route on my end.

Possible Solution?
After experiencing this Philips SmartImage racing issue multiple times daily for three consecutive weeks, I made a configuration change that has stopped the issue for ~48 consecutive hours (and running, as of the time of this post). I wanted to wait at least two days before posting back here to make sure what I was seeing was real and not an artifact. On a whim, I opened the NVIDIA Control Panel and disabled G-Sync and rebooted and the problem immediately stopped. I rebooted several times since disabling G-Sync and the SmartImage racing issue has not recurred on my three Philips monitors.
I'm standoffish to call this a solution as I'm just grateful for being able to work for two whole days without this issue interrupting my work. I realize that I could easily enable G-Sync to test whether the issue comes back but to be honest, I'm scared to do that as I don't want to jeopardize this moment of peace.
Can a few other who are using NVIDIA cards and who are also suffering from this issue test to see if they have G-Sync enabled, and if so, try disabling G-Sync and report back as to whether or not the issue goes away? Fingers crossed!
UPDATE 5/3/2024
This solution did not work. Windows rebooted without my permission last night and installed another round of updates, and now the problem has started again even with G-Sync disabled. I uninstalled the unsanctioned new updates and rebooted 2x, but the issue persists.
I've been having this problem for a week. In my case I boot up, the monitor switches to Racing mode, and I have to try multiple times to turn it off without it immediately reverting. Then I'm okay for the rest of my session.
Today I discovered something: I can trigger the problem by turning Bluetooth off and on. Doing so pushes me back into Racing mode, and, as on initial start-up, I have to try multiple times to get out of it.
I looked for any Bluetooth related drivers from the past six months or so, and the only one was Realtek Wireless Bluetooth Adapter. Rolling it back hasn't made the problem go away. But perhaps this is information someone might use to find a solution.
My system:

HP Victus 15L
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G
Graphics: Nvidia 3060 Ti
Windows 11 Home build 22631.3527
I am experiencing the same exact issue.
I am running Windows 11 and have three Philips 4K monitors. Every time the monitors go to sleep and wake up, each monitor incrementally rotates through multiple view configurations. This wastes 3+ minutes of my time waiting for this cycling to end and then manually resetting each monitor each time the monitors go to sleep, culminating in ~10 minutes of lost productivity every hour I am working. This is unacceptable and started recurring after a Windows 11 update in March 2024.
These monitors are only 6 months old and I don't want to spend another $1800 replacing these monitors to avoid wasted time / reduced productivity from a defective Microsoft OS update.
Microsoft cannot write this off as a "graphics card driver issue" as many users with different brand video cards (AMD, NVIDIA, etc) started experiencing this issue simultaneously after a Windows 11 update in ~March 2024. The ONLY common thread among these reported issues is Microsoft pushing a Windows 11 update.
I think the monitor's behavior is somehow controlled by Windows and maybe it changed with Windows' latest updates:

I hope they solve this soon, because it's quite annoying to try to set the desired SmartImage settings and then the system resets them after a couple of seconds.
