GET /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1The question is how do I stop it.

Finally got rid of the problem after about 6 months of trying. Reading most of the responses I got rid of:

• HP Smart some time ago (but still got the problem but think it was part of the problem)
• HP Print Scan Doctor today and solved the problem.

I'm still on Windows 10. HP Print Scan Doctor doesn't appear under the "Apps and Features/Remove Program" list in System settings. I had to search for it.

I found it under C:\Program Files\HPPrintScanDoctor.

Rather than delete the folder altogether I renamed the following executable files as follows:

HPPrinterHealthMonitor.exe                        to           TEMP HPPrinterHealthMonitor.exe

HPPrintScanDoctorDeploymentMgr.exe      to           TEMP HPPrintScanDoctorDeploymentMgr.exe

HPPrintScanDoctorService.exe                     to           TEMP HPPrintScanDoctorService.exe 

HPSUPD-Win32Exe.exe                                to           TEMP HPSUPD-Win32Exe.exe

That's certainly done the trick for me. Hope it's some use to everybody else.

Hi, my printer is an epson wf4740 and the above solution does not work for me either.

Can you please provide a solution? Can microsoft either fix the code or back out the upgrade?

All this ink and paper are being wasted!!! PLEASE!!!

Were you able to try Daniel Pratt1's solution? It seems to have worked for me and a few others so far. I am nearly a week in from having tried it and zero pages/ink wasted since I did this solution of Daniel Pratt1 who did NOT have an HP printer or computer (I have both-multiple printers HP and 1 computer of 2 that is HP):

These computers do not have HP printers, are not HP computers, and should in no way have had this HP software, but disabling it resolved the issue of the 1 page error printing. <<

I was able to disable the HP settings as suggested and it stopped for a while but it is back to the problem again.

I think that there was a systems update before the problem started again.

I do not have a HP printer either, mine is Epson.

This problem seems to occur and buffer the message in the printers queue when the IP address changes, i.e. when I change the address through my VPN.

Mad Mike 2 and others seem to have cracked the problem by fingering the HP Print and Scan Doctor. Well Done.

On opening the HP Print and Scan Doctor, I was surprised to see that my Epson 2820 printer featured along with the old HP printer.

So I deleted all HP Diagnostics type files from the C Drive and the spurious 'GET/eSCL/ScannerStatus... etc' printouts from the Epson stopped.

So far so good, fingers crossed.

It's annoying that there seems no other way of uninstalling the HP Print and Scan Doctor program, apart from possibly using an outside software tool.

Could this be another example of HP's invasive tendencies?

For whatever reason I was lucky to have my printer stop that for about 3 days. I removed all the HP scanning and software programming Etc and that did not work. Mad Mike you need to working on this. Greatly and luckily I'm only getting one stupid print out per printer startup.

This WORKS!! Will check back every few days/weeks to see that it is still disabled!! Thank you!!
