GET /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1The question is how do I stop it.

My printer is prompted to print this at the top of pages, usually from drawer #2 which is envelopes. I have an Epson WF-4740. The information on line indicates that this is an across the board problem. I have contacted Epson and they say it is a Microsoft problem. To date I have tried every suggested fix but nothing stops it. Extremely frustrating!!!!

End.

Yeah this is BS....I have a brother HL-L2370DW and it is doing the same thing. Also plugged in directly not wireless connection. Frustrating when printing checks!!! I agree on the "bill" for costs!!

I think there might be one more snag. Microsoft seemed to fix the problem partially with an update in July. It was great for about 2 weeks and then the next update "broke" the fix. At this point, I have to turn off my printer after I finish printing and there will be a time lapse before I print again.

From my experience, it has two remaining problems:

    1. VPN connection might be a fundamental issue. I had a ransomware attack a few months ago. I fixed everything, including reformatting my hard drive and replacing my modem with a 39 character password! On top of that, I use Bitdefender (terrific software, btw) and their VPN that places me in the US so that anytime I'm on the web, I can't be hacked.
    2. When my pc goes to "sleep", i.e., when the screen saver turns on and then the pc display goes black, the error message is generated.

I am going to test not activating the VPN and see if that clears the error message. Not my cup of tea because throughout the day I bounce back between the web and local work. Bitdefender seems to be catching suspicious links - msedge is one of the biggest! - but I am not particularly comfortable with that. If it means activating and de-activating the VPN, then it's a pain but I won't be wasting all that paper and ink.

BTW, the July update (I think it was two updates ago) worked beautifully with the VPN active.

I am having the same problem with my HL-L51100DN (Brother printer). I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them; I have checked every single property or printer property and advanced tab that I can find. I have now accumulated enough of these stupid pages to make a book. Can't someone please find the solution? This is a terrible waste of paper and toner. HELP! Mary

Please try the solution found here:

This worked for me!!!! Thank you so much. I have an Epson EcoTank 2800 and it was driving me crazy. Staying on Wifi really isn't an option for me because the graphics I need to print out would stop if the wifi dropped (which apparently happens quite a bit for me).

    Follow all the steps:

    Get /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1 Host: Localhost

    1. I did: under "print spooler" > properties>"Automatic", then click OK

    2.I did : WIN + S search control panel> device and printer>printer properties>device settings> installable options>disable the "printer status notification"

STILL THE SAME ISSUE WITH WINDOWS 11. Microsoft needs to fix their problem.

    I have Lexmark printer.
