My printer is prompted to print this at the top of pages, usually from drawer #2 which is envelopes. I have an Epson WF-4740. The information on line indicates that this is an across the board problem. I have contacted Epson and they say it is a Microsoft problem. To date I have tried every suggested fix but nothing stops it. Extremely frustrating!!!!

    Funnily, I have had the same issue today with my Brother MFC-L371OCW which is using Windows 11. However, I have not had any updates since 16th May and have been using the computer and printer on days before today and the computer has gone into Sleep mode most days. But today, I get for the first time the exact same issue. My printer has been connected all along for months via USB, so it is strange that it should suddenly start today. I have also checked and the printer has not updated its firmware and notifications are turned off.

    Any advice would be great, but I dont hold my breath that it will come from Microsoft given how long this thread has been running.

    Might be time to kick Windows into touch and go over to Linux!

    Not sure if you have seen my couple of comments on this, one posted April 26. Maybe you have that service running for some reason. Could be if you ever had an HP printer.

    There are so many posts on this problem, I am amazed that the problem is still unsolved. I am using Windows 10 and an Epson ET-4800 multi-function printer/scanner. The problem is generalized to both Windows 10 and 11. I have faithfully followed the directions given in these posts with no success. Changed USB ports. Uninstalled and reinstalled Epson's software. Nothing has worked so far. I have had the printer for months, but the problem only started in the last few weeks. The printer repeatedly prints the "GET/eSCL/scannerstatus" message and prints out two lines at the top of each page. It is wasting paper, ink and most of all, my time.

    I hoped to find a setting on the printer itself (I have the Epson ET-4800) but did not locate it. Can you tell me where you found the on the touch screen settings; it make sense that it should be there. Thanks,

    This is the only fix that worked for me - out of about a dozen I tried, thank you so much. I thought I uninstalled everything HP related when I connected my Epson but not that one service!
