Hi Guys
I'm not sure if my suggestion below will work for printers not made by HP but I have an old HP 6940 printer that started printing the texts such as:
Get /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1
Host: Localhost
It started early July and I suspected it might have been caused by a Windows 10 update. Also produces a random wake up and print output on the HP without any print requests from me or my desktop.
So I then tried running the services.msc command and disabled the following processes - which you may or may not have running on your system:
HP Network Devices Support
HP Print Scan Doctor Service
Amazingly the HP 6940 has not woken up randomly or printed the HTTP gibberish since.
I know the above may knock out your wifi services or other functions but it might be worth trying the solution to see if your USB-connected printer shuts itself up for a while.
If it doesn't - turn the two services back on or experiment as you see fit.
