My printer is prompted to print this at the top of pages, usually from drawer #2 which is envelopes. I have an Epson WF-4740. The information on line indicates that this is an across the board problem. I have contacted Epson and they say it is a Microsoft problem. To date I have tried every suggested fix but nothing stops it. Extremely frustrating!!!!

End.

I think I have found a workaround until Microsoft fixes this problem with Windows 11. It is definitely a Microsoft problem.

I upgraded my Dell Inspiron and my Microsoft Surface Pro about 4-5 months ago. The hard drives on both of these pcs had been reformatted prior to the O/S installation. The Dell is connected directly to the internet via RS232 cable. The Surface Pro uses WIFI. I have an Epson XP-4100 printer at home.

After what I felt was extensive testing and following suggestions from Microsoft, I still got the Scanner error message. I was able to narrow it down to the situation when my pc was "asleep", as in when the screen saver turned on or when I powered down my pc but left the printer on. If I powered down, my printer BEFORE either of those conditions occurred, then I could print without errors.

Recently, using the Surface Pro at another site, I could not print at all using an HP115 Injet. This time the error message said there were jobs in the print queue. Checking the print queue showed no pending jobs. I then stopped the print spooler, as advised by Microsoft, and restarted the spooler. Microsoft said that would clear the queue. No dice. Same error.

I scoured different advice on the internet and found a solution. I stopped the print spooler and then issued the following from the Run command: C:\Windows\System32\spool\printers. It displayed 4 temporary files, which I deleted (CTRL A +Del). I restarted the spooler and tested the Scanner error problem both with the screen saver and turning off my pcs (both of them) and printing. NO ERRORS!

Microsoft is putting unseen temporary files in the print queue with Windows 11. This happens even with a clean install of the O/S. Here are the files:

    Ciao Steve Bump

    Migliori saluti
