My printer is prompted to print this at the top of pages, usually from drawer #2 which is envelopes. I have an Epson WF-4740. The information on line indicates that this is an across the board problem. I have contacted Epson and they say it is a Microsoft problem. To date I have tried every suggested fix but nothing stops it. Extremely frustrating!!!!

    Cause
    <ul style=""><li style=""><p data-prewrap="true"><span style="">This issue occurs when the Windows print notification setting is enabled</span></p></li></ul>
    Resolution
    To resolve this issue, turn off the Windows print notifications for local printers:<br><br>1. Open Settings.<br><br>2. Click Bluetooth & Devices.<br><br>3. Click Printers & scanners.<br><br>4. Scroll down until you get to the "Related settings" category. Click Print server properties.<br><br>Related Settings<br><br>5. Click the Advanced tab.<br><br>Advanced tab<br><br>6. Remove the check from Show informational notifications for local printers.<br><br>7. Click Apply → OK.

    I have done the step you suggested 5 times, but it won't fix the problem.

    No. As far as I can tell Microsoft has done nothing. The problem is now almost 6 months old.

    The ONLY thing that prevents this error for me is to turn my printer off after I've finished printing. That is if there will be more than 5 minutes between print jobs. If I have a series of print jobs, they go normally. The error only occurs if I've stopped printing for 5 or so minutes. Then my printer starts making noises and I know it has entered the error condition.

    It appears to me that the O/S is not releasing the printer properly. In other words, the printer is waiting for a system notification to close out printing mode. It seems like the printer then queries the O/S but that link is gone and that lack of release puts the printer in error mode.

    The printer never gets released to a normal state. Turning off the printer resolves whatever it is waiting for. Unfortunately, I forget sometimes and paper and ink get wasted. It is supremely annoying.
