GET /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1The question is how do I stop it.

This may be out of date for some. I just could not handle it anymore. My printer is a Lexmark brand. This fixed it for me...(from geekpage site)

Fix 4 – Uncheck the information notifications for printers

Actually, when local printers are showing the notifications, this incurs the eSCL error.

Step 1 – Type “printer” after pressing the Windows key.

Step 2 – Then, tap “Printers & scanners” to open that.

Step 3 – Then, scroll down to the end on the right-hand pane. Tap “Print server properties“.

Step 4 – Make sure to head on to the “Advanced” tab.

Step 5 – Then, make sure to uncheck these two options –

Show informational notifications for local printers

Show informational notifications for network printers

Step 6 – Save the settings. Tap “Apply” and “OK“.

Try to print a test page now and test. You won’t see the “Get/eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1 Host: localhost” error message in the printer page.

HarveyBenjamin, scroll back through other suggestions. this exact same suggestion is offered at least once a week by others and does not work. The only constant that has worked is unplugging the USB cable which, for one reason or another, is not a work around for the majority of us on here.

Yes. I wish that these people who offer up "suggestions" would scroll back through and read that this has been posted at least 5 times. If it worked, then none of us would be here. Villa Nova1, I am sure you meant well, but you offered a solution that has been posted multiple times and does not work. I am sure that you will be back in a few days looking for solutions because that only temporarily fixes it, as in a few hours in my case as well as others on here, if at all. I think that Microsoft needs to fix it instead of all of us offering temp solutions or work arounds.

I am beginning to think that MS is the ones who post that same suggestion over and over.

Is your Brother Printer wireless compatible? If so, eliminate the usb cable and access the network via internal wireless connection.

I have done this, and it doesn't change anything. This is very frustrating. This morning there were 6 pages of this message laying in my printer, all printed on my check blanks, since this is the printer that I use for printing checks.
