My printer is prompted to print this at the top of pages, usually from drawer #2 which is envelopes. I have an Epson WF-4740. The information on line indicates that this is an across the board problem. I have contacted Epson and they say it is a Microsoft problem. To date I have tried every suggested fix but nothing stops it. Extremely frustrating!!!!

End.

Hi I just had the same issues with my Epson SureColor P800 printer. I'm running windows 11 64Bit version. I went through all the suggested fixes including YouTube with no joy at all. Including uninstalling the printer, drivers and reinstalling the official drivers from Epsom manually, as the Epsom updater would not even register my printer was connected? definitely a driver issue on windows part.

So I resorted to clearing the setting from the printer it self using the touchscreen options. So far so good I've printed a Giclee print with no problems. Hopefully it's resolved as printing with these inks on this high quality paper is not cheap.

    Hope this helps.

Yes! It's only been a couple of days that I deleted "HP-SMART". but it was printing that line several times a day and seems to be gone. Mine is an Epson 3820 running Windows 10. This makes it appear that it is not Microsoft or Epson, it is HP! Thank you!

I did this fix over a month ago and everything went great. Now the tasks suddenly re-enabled themselves. I went ahead and deleted the tasks entirely this time. Hopefully no more zombie printer.

    FIXED!

For context, I am using windows 11 home. I bought an epson ecotank 2870 and experienced the same issue. 2 lines of code.

    Get /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1

    Host: Localhost

After hours of searching I found there is a patch on epsons website. For some reason the epson portal did not auto download it for me...

For the printer I bought "EPSON ECOTANK 2870" this is the link for the fix:

    https://www.epson.co.uk/en_GB/support/sc/ecotank-et-2870/s/s3039?suggestionClicked=true

Scroll to "drivers" and download "scan patch for user interface".
Ofcourse search on the website for your own printer.
