Yep, I have the Epson workforce. Did you ever get a solution? I'm also wasting lots of paper.
GET /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1The question is how do I stop it.
My printer is prompted to print this at the top of pages, usually from drawer #2 which is envelopes. I have an Epson WF-4740. The information on line indicates that this is an across the board problem. I have contacted Epson and they say it is a Microsoft problem. To date I have tried every suggested fix but nothing stops it. Extremely frustrating!!!!
End.

2024-02-07T20:53:05+00:00 Elizabeth,
I agree that this is a very frustrating situation.
Since it is happening on just about every type of printer connected to Windows, I would conclude that it is a Microsoft problem and they should fix it.
I am trying to find out which part of their software is looking for a scanner status and who is the localhost and why does it need to know the status.
If a Microsoft tech is monitoring these messages, they could be able to answer the question.

2024-02-07T20:03:00+00:00 I have 2 Epson Workforce WF-7720 Printers and not only does this message appear at the top of new print jobs (I am an artist, and this is super annoying and very wasteful) but in addition my computer keeps dropping my printers' connection. I have to constantly be reconnecting them. I have to remove them and reconnect them a lot! Also, I have tried connecting them wirelessly and USB and neither connection seems to fix the problem. I have a new HP Envy desktop computer with Windows 11 preinstalled before purchase. I really wish someone, or Windows could come up with a fix!!!

2024-02-07T18:23:00+00:00 I had this issue until I went too the printer property, and found that the system box was checked, I clicked on my user ( admin name) that fixed it for me.

2024-02-06T22:12:16+00:00 To add a potential fix into the mix, I was able to solve this for 2 of my users with USB connected Brother printers by going into Task Scheduler, Expanding out Task Scheduler Library > HP > HP Print Scan Doctor, and changing "Print Health Monitor" and "Print Health Monitor Logon" to Disable.
These computers do not have HP printers, are not HP computers, and should in no way have had this HP software, but disabling it resolved the issue of the 1 page error printing.
Alright, Daniel! I did this suggestion just now so fingers crossed. Will report back tomorrow and let you know if it worked. I do have an HP printer AND an HP computer and there is only 1 printer (one of 3 HP printers and the only one that has to be USB connected) that is USB connected. I did your suggestions so hopefully it works. I have deleted that HP Print/Scan Doctor so many times and while it does stop the messages for a few hours, it always loads it back on the system when the computer restarts so it is only temporary. I am not sure how it is getting loaded back on again but it is. If you attempt to google how to remove it from your system completely, it is hard to find any solution as most of them tell you how to use it even when you are entering "remove HP PrintScan from my computer" so it is obvs a garbage program HP/MS enjoy loading us with.
