GET /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1The question is how do I stop it.

My printer is prompted to print this at the top of pages, usually from drawer #2 which is envelopes. I have an Epson WF-4740. The information on line indicates that this is an across the board problem. I have contacted Epson and they say it is a Microsoft problem. To date I have tried every suggested fix but nothing stops it. Extremely frustrating!!!!

End.

Thank you, William R. Till for your posting!!!

I was so happy because on April 14, 2023, after an update, my HP Printer Laser Jet M553 started acting properly again. I had no more continual pages being printed with “get/ escl/scanner status http http/1.1 Host : localhost”. The honeymoon ended with your most current update on 5/12/23 because it is back to printing pages everyday. This proves to me it is a Microsoft problem not a printer issue. I am extremely disappointed with Microsoft because I would like to hear from them that they are working on a fix for this obvious “bug”. I know I would feel better if they would reach out and let us know they are working on it instead of leaving everyone in limbo like this. I wish I could go back to Windows 10 because I never had any problems with that version. Since this is a Microsoft forum I hope they are listening!

I have the same printer and you and I both know this printer's cartridges are not cheap! Ridiculous! I have been having this issue for over a year. One week I saved the entire stack of pages from these false prints and it was well over 150 pages. It happens everytime I try to print something if my printer has been asleep and also it wakes itself up all night if I don't remember to unplug the USB before I leave work. MS should be reported for environmental hazards to greta thurnburg or whatever her name is and let her gnaw on them for a minute.

We are talking to ourselves here on this thread, Microsoft probably does not read or even care about what we are experiencing. As long as they can push their software down our throats.

    Graynor,

You are absolutely right without a doubt. MS never reads these threads. If so, we would hear from a "I am employed by MS and we are working diligently to solve this issue!" and we don't even get that. I contacted them over a year ago when I first started having the issue and they immediately spent 2 hours back and forth before telling me it was an HP issue. I came back with "How is it an 'HP' issue when Epson and Canon and all other brands have the same 'issue'?" and he said again, "I am sorry. YOu have to contact HP for support." Well, I didn't even bother. It is a systemic issue if all brands are having the same issue when plugged in via USB. If anyone finds a different operating system, let us all know because my cartridges for my laser used to last 6 months and now last 2 months. They aren't cheap either.
