GET /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1The question is how do I stop it.

My printer is prompted to print this at the top of pages, usually from drawer #2 which is envelopes. I have an Epson WF-4740. The information on line indicates that this is an across the board problem. I have contacted Epson and they say it is a Microsoft problem. To date I have tried every suggested fix but nothing stops it. Extremely frustrating!!!!

End.

Then it's probably deeper rooted in Window's 11 and not accessible to us mere mortals. All I can suggest is switching off the network printer setting as well, just in case. It may be coming from another network connected printer. If that doesn't solve it then all that's left is to wait for a patch from Microsoft.

I don't know if your using Apple equipment, I don't, but there's earlier references to disabling Airprint that may be a cause too. To me, it does look like it's a problem in Windows 11 so altering anything on the printer itself isn't going to change anything - all you can do is wait for the patch from MS or, as I suggested earlier in this thread, hit the "Delete Print" button as soon as the printer wakes from sleep - that worked for me (but my printer is beside me on my desk and not on the other side of my office) until I unplugged my USB cable, deleted the USB variant of the printer software then did a complete reinstall of the printer but connected it this time via WIFI.

I have tried with just Wifi and without Wifi and it doesn't make any difference on my printer.

I have tried every suggestion and it still prints out the papers.

I have to turn it off when I'm not using it, which is really annoying.

Connecting the printer via WIFI, not cabled via a USB, solved it for me. This has also been offered as a solution. It came via Brother so most people probably ignored it who don't have a Brother printer, but it's actually an adjustment in your Window's 11 printer setting so will work for ANY make. It's fairly easy to do, follow these steps.

To resolve printing: "GET/eSCL/ScannerStatus/HTTP/1.1", turn off the Windows 11 print notifications for local printers:

    1. Open Settings.
    2. Click Bluetooth & Devices.
    3. Click Printers & scanners.
    4. Scroll down until you get to the "Related settings" category. Click Print server properties.

    Related Settings

    1. Click the Advanced tab.

    Advanced tab

    6. Remove the check from Show informational notifications for local printers.

    7. Click Apply → OK.

I have done it but switching to WIFI worked for me so I don't know for sure if this is a solution but it looks right. Good luck!

    Dear Mr. Matson,

I am a 74 year old retired trial lawyer and don't know anything about today's world. I have the same problem with a new Canon Image Class D570 printer.

I can't get Canon on the phone. So, I simply put information in my monitor's search bar and came up with this forum.

My Windows 11 shuts down and goes to sleep if I don't use my computer on a continuous basis. When I hit the button to login in, my printer prints out a piece of paper with the eSCL, etc. error. Sometimes it prints more than one page and does so at odd times.

My problem with today's world is that, as a cardiac "cripple," I can't take stress and can't function w/o having the ability to call someone at a company, be it a bank, store or, in this case, Canon.

I don't understand any of the instructions I found in this forum. I don't know what Win+R or Win+S means. However, after one hour I found "spooler," but didn't know what to do with it.

Have you found a person to contact at Microsoft about this problem?

    Thank you.

    Roy Warner

I removed the USB cable and installed the WIFI for my Epson ET-3710 printer. I went to www.epson.com/support/ET3710 and followed the installation. So far my printer hasn't printed out: GET /eSCL/ScannerStatus HJTTP/1.1 Host: localhost

    Hopefully it is now fixed?
