My printer is prompted to print this at the top of pages, usually from drawer #2 which is envelopes. I have an Epson WF-4740. The information on line indicates that this is an across the board problem. I have contacted Epson and they say it is a Microsoft problem. To date I have tried every suggested fix but nothing stops it. Extremely frustrating!!!!

    Brother said is Microsoft problem.

    It is wasting a lot of paper.

    Please test and provide solutions.

    This is intriguing. I did not find this option under Windows 11. I got to the printer server and advanced but there was no tab as described in your email.

    Quite a while ago, there was a posting to ignore notifications. I can't remember exactly where it was but, as I've said before, I applied every single recommendation to no avail in Windows 11.

    I'm fine now but that was only after I executed some print jobs through wifi. I still think there is something in the communication between the operating system and the printer. Clearly the printer is waiting for some notification. Using usb introduces an intermediary and then wifi seemed to do the trick.

    What is tantilizing is that when I went back to local cable connection to the internet, the error seems to have been cleared permanently.

    Only Microsoft can find where the default operating system printer notification code is failing.

    Hi all,

    I have a potential solution for this:

    (Doing this under Windows 11, but it should be similar for Windows 10)

    1. Under Printer & scanners settings (in the windows search bar type Printer and Scanner) **** there should be a tab called Printer server properties. Go there.
    2. Once there, there are multiple tabs (Forms, Ports, etc.), but the one we are looking for is Advanced.
    3. Under the advanced tab there should be two check boxes called (Show informational notifications for local printers / Show informational notifications for network printers). Uncheck both boxes and hit apply.

    That should fix the issue.

    You can restart the printer spool service and turn off / on your printer for safe measure.

    Sorry to hear so many people are still having trouble with this. For what its worth, I haven't seen this come back since I deleted "HP-SMART" back in mid-May.

    I did that in the beginning and it did not work for me. Only the usb/wifi combo worked.
