My printer is prompted to print this at the top of pages, usually from drawer #2 which is envelopes. I have an Epson WF-4740. The information on line indicates that this is an across the board problem. I have contacted Epson and they say it is a Microsoft problem. To date I have tried every suggested fix but nothing stops it. Extremely frustrating!!!!

    Do you know if the customer had an HP installed previously?

     

    Please try the following two suggestions one at a time.

     

     

    Suggestion 1) Disable any HP or other manufacturer services

    1. On the keyboard press Windows Key +R
    2. Type in services.msc
    3. Find any other manufacturer service and disable them. (HP Print Scan Doctor Service,  HP Network Devices Support)

     

    Suggestion 2) Disable Windows local notifications

    1. Open Settings.
    2. Select Bluetooth & Devices.
    3. Select Printers & scanners.
    4. Scroll down to Related settings section, then select Print server properties.
    5. Select the Advancedtab.

    6. Remove the check from Show informational notifications for local printers.

    7. Select OK.

    So far so good hasn't printed out on it's own in a week.

    1 - I tried the Sleep Mode instructions. Didn't work. Others thoughts?

    2 - The printer status print issue did resolve! I didn't have access to the granular setting mentioned, and I had downloaded and installed the print driver for Windows 11 (Epson web site). Didn't work at first, BUT when an impending Windows update just hobbled my machine the next morning, I relented and did the update. Printing issue fixed! I've only printed 1 document, so I hope that wasn't a fluke.

    3 - Other issue - Applying colors to Active Window Title Bar . . . Doesn't work. Only the thinnest of borders displays, and frankly, it's so thin it's pointless. I've done the Preferences Color setting multiple times. Nothing. Active window title bar remains a pallid Windows grey. I notice there's NO 'Apply' or 'Save' button in the Preferences interface. Could that be the issue? I typically have 5 windows/ apps open at any time. Having a noticeable color on the active title bar eases visual navigation! I've used this feature for years.

    Agreed, which is probably why MS hasn't put out a fix or patch yet. They can't figure out a fix all solution either!

    Windows 10, Dell computer, both Epson & Brother printers.

    My problem appears to be resolved but I am stumped on why.

    I have applied all the suggested "fixes" in the past 18 months or so to no avail. When the comments were made about USB v Wifi, I was intrigued about that.

    My pc is a "directly" connected RS232 via USB dongle. PCs don't seem to have those RS232 ports anymore. I experimented and turned on Wifi on my pc and using Wifi the problem disappeared! Technically, I am using a USB port but want the direct connect to internet. My pc is too far from the router to get good response via Wifi and why would I use a USB connection when I want good response.

    I then turned off Wifi on my pc and the problem is no longer appearing.

    Huh?
