GET /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1The question is how do I stop it.

My printer is prompted to print this at the top of pages, usually from drawer #2 which is envelopes. I have an Epson WF-4740. The information on line indicates that this is an across the board problem. I have contacted Epson and they say it is a Microsoft problem. To date I have tried every suggested fix but nothing stops it. Extremely frustrating!!!!

End.

This is what worked for me! I had an HP printer previously as well yet there was still software active in the background. It is nice having a quiet printer again!

    Brian,

I don't know if you actually read through the entire thread of replies, but the majority of us who have this issue CANNOT go wireless because the printer we are using MUST BE USED WITH A USB CABLE. That has been stated numerous times throughout this thread, multiple times by me alone. I doubt these solutions are b.s. as you called them due to the fact that they worked for some of us (me!) and not for others so it is still a MS issue and not a brand/printer issue.

Your nastiness is not appreciated on here. Turning off the printer isn't a solution for many of us on here as we are not just people sitting at home typing out our frustrations on a keyboard rant in a MS forum, but we have actual offices and these printers are used all day and required to be left on.

Thanks for trying the solutions but a simple "didn't work for me" would have sufficed before you tore into the rest of this board. I am sorry they didn't work for you but no need to be nasty.

Heyall, do not know if Any Other Folk out there found these solutions viable??

BUT, as I sit here, and finding nothing of any above really worked in my situation. This, on Our Epson ET-4760 Eco-Tank All-in-One Printer, as, after many times following the b.s. advice here....It still does the '/eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1 Host: Localhost' .....Shuffle...!! And wasting precious paper, sanity & patience.

Anyay, My 3 Cents.....As I have found, as in Society, as we all are Wireless Capable, just setup Wireless on Your Devices, bit awkward, but we ALL HAVE Wireless Capable. SO......I just pulled all the Connections, Ethernet, USB and Now it's "Peace & Quiet" after 3 years of this MindF**K, seeming...I can stop grinding my teeth.

THIS.... AS Nobody stepped up, either Epson, Microsoft, or HP, in any Formal Address of THIS....NOBODY...Except for the Vague Outside (Authorized Guru) Help from MS....Yikes..Who the Huh are They. Where is MS SUPPORT..>????? Is there ANY SUPPORT...Obviously Lacking..Look at Windows 11, still sputtering.

Anyway. All Quiet Today....and LOVING IT. Or, the Solution of...You Can Turn 'OFF" the Printer as Well, Imagine THAT>..!!

    ~Enjoy~
