GET /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1The question is how do I stop it.

My printer is prompted to print this at the top of pages, usually from drawer #2 which is envelopes. I have an Epson WF-4740. The information on line indicates that this is an across the board problem. I have contacted Epson and they say it is a Microsoft problem. To date I have tried every suggested fix but nothing stops it. Extremely frustrating!!!!

End.

Have you installed the full feature software from Epson for your model and followed the promts to connect your printer?

Its not an MS or win problem, its a user problem with an incorrect installation of their third party hardware.

By default win 11 does not update drivers

I have both Epson and HP printers running with no issues on both win11 & win10, wireless & usb

    Typical. Blame everyone else.

I have to call that person, Palcouk out. They must have installed it incorrectly as well or why else would they be on this thread? This error is not something you would randomly stumble across in your online searches. LOL So this person being rude and saying it is our fault and not MS or HP fault is not very smart because anyone with a brain would know that they didn't end up on this thread by accident. Either they have the same issue and just trying to be a keyboard warrior and make themselves feel better OR they work for one or the other companies HP/MS and are trying to do damage control. Either way, it isn't a user problem. It is an MS problem. MS owned it as their issue back in October 2023. While this person is searching for ways to fix this issue on their epson and hp printers on both windows 10 and windows 11 with "no issues" ;) -- they can also google this and see where MS said in October they know this is a known issue with their driver updates and they are working on a repair. ;) have a nice day though Palcouk...thanks for playing.

Update: the task library fix only worked for a day. Then the GET/scanner status started printing even more, like 5x per hour instead of 5 times per day. I followed many suggestions from this forum and Google. I just started to troubleshoot and problem solve because most of the suggestions did not work for me.

This issue was in an office setting with multiple computers/printers/scanners connected to the network. The issue was only happening with one HP computer that had a stand alone Lexmark MS823 printer connected by USB, epson DT780 scanner connected by USB and Epson smart tank connected wirelessly. The scanner status was printing on the Lexmark printer that didn’t have a scanner.

I deleted the epson scan 2 app which did nothing. I deleted the Lexmark drivers and re-downloaded which did nothing. Then I decided to go into the installed apps and see if maybe the HP doctor app had somehow auto-installed… There was nothing in there so I just started uninstalling any apps that seemed unnecessary. I deleted a bunch of the HP apps that were not related to the CPU or Network functionality and that worked. The annoying get/scanner status page finally stopped printing. Please be careful when doing this because on a different occasion I accidentally deleted the app that allowed the computer to connect to wireless networks and was never able to restore that app so the computer became useless.

I’m not sure if this is really a Microsoft issue but I assume it was something that auto-installed with a Microsoft update for HP. Sometimes when you download adobe, the McAfee auto installs and McAfee is the worst, it causes the computer to go haywire. That’s what this felt like but McAfee was not installed on this computer. I have seen people in this forum say they had this issue with dell so I don’t want to say it’s HP but deleting all of those unnecessary HP apps did the trick for me.

I have same problem for nearly two months now.

I do not think that this is a microsoft problem.

Each morning, I send out an email message to a group of people and I send a copy of my sent emails to EpsonConnect (my printer's email address) which then goes to cyberworld at Epson, which sends a copy of the email back directly, via wifi from my router, to the printer, which then puts the heading:
    Get/eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1 Host: local host.

So, this doesn't have anything to do with my PC, Windows or Microsoft. It's an Epson printer problem.

However... I also get the weird headings when printing directly from my PC.

    I'll keep bugging Epson.

I have found something that works for me. I have gone into devices and then printers. I switched my default printer from WF-4740 to my network printer as default. Problem solved with one exception. It's slower, be patient and wait, it will print eventually. End.
