My printer is prompted to print this at the top of pages, usually from drawer #2 which is envelopes. I have an Epson WF-4740. The information on line indicates that this is an across the board problem. I have contacted Epson and they say it is a Microsoft problem. To date I have tried every suggested fix but nothing stops it. Extremely frustrating!!!!

End.

    Hi Bruce,

I am very sorry about this, but as an independent expert, I do not directly work with Microsoft, so I couldn't tell you about any insider news or why or what has caused this. But in this position, contacting Microsoft is the best and most ideal solution as they will be able to give you a more in-depth explanation and guide you step by step, which will help you understand it more clearly. Again, I am very sorry about this. Below i will help you on how to get a call back from Microsoft:

In order to schedule a call back from Microsoft Windows support team, we need to use the native Help app. If you’re not sure how to use the app, complete the given below directions to schedule a call back from Microsoft right from your Windows desktop.

Step 1: In the Start or taskbar search box, type GetHelp, and then press Enter key to launch Help app.

Enter a short summary of the product and assistance you require It will then present you with a list of support documents that may be helpful in resolving the issue.

If none of these are appropriate select the blue contact support button at the bottom of the screen

Select the product or service your question relates to

Select the Category of the question from the list presented or the nearest if no option is correct.

    Select Confirm

On the next screen you will be presented with the available support options for your locale.

    Chat is the default method

If your local support centre is still in operational hours for the category of question then you will be able to select the call back by selection the option of providing phone number for call back.

    After selecting this

Select your country and enter the phone number you would like to receive the call back on.

Look everything you mentioned I have done and more than once. I need Microsoft to respond with a real solution to this problem rather than a cut and paste fix. From the research I've done it appears to be a problem with the Windows 11 upgrade which I am running. I believe this is a problem created by Microsoft and Epson also agrees. I need answers!

    Hello,

The issue you're describing with your Epson WF-4740 printer, where it prints GET /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1 at the top of pages, seems to be related to a communication problem between the printer and your computer. This issue is often attributed to a network communication error, possibly related to printer drivers or software conflicts. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:

    Update Printer Firmware:

Check if your printer has the latest firmware. You can usually find firmware updates on the Epson support website for your specific printer model. Update Printer Drivers:

Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your Epson WF-4740. Drivers can be downloaded from the Epson website. After downloading, install the drivers following the provided instructions. Check Printer Settings:

Sometimes, specific settings can cause issues. Check the printer settings from its control panel or the Epson printer software on your computer. Reset Printer to Default Settings:

Resetting your printer to its factory default settings can sometimes resolve odd issues. You can do this from the printer's control panel. Reinstall Printer Software:

Uninstall and then reinstall the Epson printer software on your computer. This can help clear any software conflicts. Network Configuration:

If your printer is connected to your network, ensure that the network settings are correctly configured. A misconfigured network can cause communication problems between your computer and printer. Try a Different Connection Method:

If you're using a wireless connection, try using a wired connection instead, or vice versa, to see if the issue persists. Contact Microsoft Support:

Since Epson suggested it's a Microsoft issue, you might also want to contact Microsoft Support for assistance, especially if the problem seems related to your computer or network. Consult with a Professional:

If none of the above solutions work, it might be helpful to consult with a professional technician. Remember, when making changes to your printer's firmware or settings, it's important to follow the instructions carefully to avoid any additional issues.

    Best Regards, Saurabh
