I am using Windows 11 Home.
Whenever I start/restart my computer there are two login shown, both with the same name. I believe one is a local account (generic icon), the other has my icon I assigned to my Microsoft account. I have recently changed my email address and updated the address on my Microsoft account.
Every time I start/restart the computer it defaults to the generic icon with my old email as the user name and asks for a password. I have tried entering my password and it says that the user name or password is incorrect. I also tried correcting the email to my new email, enter my Microsoft password but it still says that is incorrect. I then have to click the login with my assigned icon and enter my PIN.
Today I checked my Microsoft account and removed the old email from recovery but the problem continues.
Is there a way to remove this generic account? Or have it be the same as my Microsoft account? I just want to type in my PIN.

If you are still having the same issue after the update, try this:
I logged out of my MS account and signed back in. With the update, switching from one account to the other changed. I clicked on the Windows icon, then my name, the elipses and logout or switch account. Try it and see if you can see your other user. Good luck!

I have this issue too. Upon starting up another account shows up together with the local account. But, I never created the other account and I do not know how to access the other account. I've checked there are no other accounts or users on my computer.
Just post the solution instead of replying to everyone.
