The description for Event ID 153 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found

Hello,

I have been plagued by countless annoying random game crashes the past months with my pc with all pointing out to this error (from event viewer) when they occur: "The description for Event ID 153 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\00000092

Reset TDR occurred on GPUID:100

The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table"

Have tried numerous possible solutions already from forums, but with no luck.. Fortnite and many other games crash after random intervals. Can anyone suggest a solution for this?

My specs are the following:

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400F CPU @ 2.90GHz

Installed RAM G-SKILL F4 3200-C16 32,0 GB DDR4

GPU EVGA GTX 980 Superclocked ACX 2.0

Drives Patriot M.2 P300 512GB and Seagate Hybrid HDD 4TB

Motherboard GIGABYTE H510M H V2

Microsoft Windows 11 Professional (x64) Build 22631.3593 (23H2)

Have to note that i recently replaced almost all parts from the pc due to a previous motherboard burnout which killed many components, expect the PSU (which was repaired by the technician) and GPU (which the technician said was saved from the burnout) and the Hybrid HDD (have this HDD since 2016). Apart from this, i restored my windows partition through Macrium Reflect image backup (from the Hybrid HHD saved backup).

Thanks in advance for any possible solutions to this, if any!

hello im trying to fix this issue from last year on my gaming laptop still no fix even local technician cant find a fix

but for your question to test with benchmark software

i would reccomend unihaven benchmark or furmark

and for full system test try peformance test by passmark.com

i hope someone can find a fix for this cause i have honeslty given up tried everything now i just use integrated graphics of my laptop

thank you very much for the feedback and the recommendations.

I hope that these tests really do cause the problem discussed FOR YOU. So I don't need a general recommendation for benchmarks etc., I know enough about that.

So it's REALLY about me being able to reproduce the error that ALSO causes the error FOR YOU with the benchmark software or something similar, anything else would be nonsense.

Based on your answer, I also assume that you don't have the error if you use the internal graphics card and that your dedicated graphics card is an NVidia and not an AMD.

    Right?

    Hello EVERYONE!!!

As I hardly ever play games on my computer and the freezing mostly occurs when I'm away (e.g. YouTube video paused) (so actually when idle), I would like to test the other side, namely when the computer is really busy, in the case of the people here whose computers freeze when they're gaming.

As I obviously don't want to buy a game specifically for this, here's my question...

Can anyone recommend a free benchmark software and possibly settings that I can use to recreate YOUR causal cases?

Perhaps one or two people have already tested this problem with benchmark software.

By the way, I spent a whole day testing my RAM with memtest, 13 runs and errors!

    Thank you very much

I am also facing the same issue. Over the past few months, there have been other people reporting similar problems, and I believe it is more likely a software issue rather than a hardware problem. I have tried various solutions so far, but have not been able to resolve the issue as of now.
