The most recent Windows 10 updates stop my Roland GX24 cutter from working.

Is anyone aware that this is happening?

Hello NosajCee,

Thanks for reaching out! I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

An issue caused by a recent Windows security update (version KB5039211) has disrupted communication between some Roland DGA drivers and their connected devices, primarily affecting cutters and engravers. As a temporary solution, Roland Care advises uninstalling this specific Windows update.

To uninstall the updates,

a. Go to Settings.

b. Select Windows Update and Security.

c. Select Update history.

d. Click Uninstall updates.

e. select the update installed - "Double-Click “Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB5039211)”

f. Click on “Yes” to uninstall.

g. Once uninstalled, restart your computer.

See the Roland website for detailed information:

    Hi Harry,

I appreciate all the help you've posted. Evidently I'm an idiot though. I'm running Windows 10 and my cutter is GX-24. Is this update the right one for all CAMM-1 cutters? Windows 10 64bit [ 2024-09-06, ver.1.60 ]

If so, can you tell me specifically how to uninstall the previous driver, please? I can only find where I completely delete CutStudio via Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel. If I delete it, I can't see where installing the SETUP64.exe will work unless that reinstalls the whole program with the new driver.

This morning I started by creating a Restore Point....just in case. Then I deleted CutStudio and installed the .exe file. It didn't make my cutter work, so rather than having to reinstall CutStudio, I did a Restore to make it reinstall it and now I've spent the better part of my day getting my computer back up and running because it crashed my whole system.

My cutter worked until last week when another update ran after I had stopped all updates. I'm really frustrated that Microsoft didn't fix this issue instead of Roland.

    Thank you for any assistance.

I have a GX-24. Is that what you have? I'm running Windows 10. I've spent ALL day getting my computer back up because I deleted Cutstudio thinking that was what I was supposed to do. I ran a System Restore after this didn't work so I didn't have to reinstall Cutstudio. My computer crashed and 6 hours later....I'm finally back up and running. This is a stupid nightmare. Why can't they just be more specific and maybe show some screen shots?
