Windows 11 24H2 USB Audio Issues (timing out)

I have upgraded to Windows 11 24H2 (26100.712) and am having issues with getting my USB Audio systems to stay awake. Whenever there is no sound playing, my USB audio system turns itself off, thinking that there is no power to the USB port that it's connected to.

I've changed the setting in advanced power options to disable selective suspend, but this does not do anything. I've also disabled powering down the drive setting in Device Manager (for USB ports), and still no luck.

My machine is pretty much useless as a work machine now, as my USB audio (Bose Companion 5) system turns off within minutes of no audio, silencing my machine so I'm unable to hear notifications or calls.

This bug has only happened since installing 24H2, I've checked device manager and there seems to have been new drivers installed with this update, so potentially some changes there.

    I have installed the latest update from Microsoft, yet the issue with Bose Companion speakers remains unresolved.

    FYI

    Since my computer did not like 23H2 anymore (kept asking me to install 24h2), I had to try something different.

    I replaced my Audio-M audio interface by a Roland Duo Capture Ex interface.

    Wow! Up to now more annoying “speaker plops” every 45 seconds of USB inactivity !!

    Downloading manually the Roland Win11 driver was, in my case, not necessary.

    (Apparently Win 11 selected automatically the IN DUO-CAPTURE EX driver, date: 31-3-2024, version: 10.0.26100.1)

    In addition: Also the “roaring sound” that appeared while closing Windows, with the active speakers still switched on, is gone/solved.

    I believe I'm having the same issue here - I have a USB DAC (Dragonfly Black) that I plug my speakers into via a 3.5mm jack. I'm on the latest Windows 11 24H2 update too; all drivers up to date; USB suspend is disabled.

    Essentially, the USB device goes to sleep if there is no audio playing. When I try to play something that emits sound (youtube video, MP3s, etc) there is a delay of 2-5 seconds before the audio starts.

    If I plug my 3.5mm jack directly into my motherboard (removing the USB DAC) this issue goes away. Trouble is that my motherboard audio is rubbish.

    Not sure if this is the same issue everyone else is experiencing but it is annoying af.

    Any idea what I can try to fix this issue since MS doesn't seem capable of fixing it themselves.

    It seems a fix is available in the Insider program. Actually since December 4 https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2024/12/04/announcing-windows-11-insider-preview-build-27758-canary-channel/

    When is this fix available in the stable channel? How can Microsoft not stop the update rollout for the users that have such a USB device. Do we suppose to just try out any update every month and just hope for the best? That's a bit of a joke. Of course, an update can fail, and it did, and I did a roll back. But why can't we have a stable notification or issue we can subscribe to, and just wait for it to resolve?
