I have upgraded to Windows 11 24H2 (26100.712) and am having issues with getting my USB Audio systems to stay awake. Whenever there is no sound playing, my USB audio system turns itself off, thinking that there is no power to the USB port that it's connected to.
I've changed the setting in advanced power options to disable selective suspend, but this does not do anything. I've also disabled powering down the drive setting in Device Manager (for USB ports), and still no luck.
My machine is pretty much useless as a work machine now, as my USB audio (Bose Companion 5) system turns off within minutes of no audio, silencing my machine so I'm unable to hear notifications or calls.
This bug has only happened since installing 24H2, I've checked device manager and there seems to have been new drivers installed with this update, so potentially some changes there.

In the middle of a recording session last night my audio completely cut out and went crazy with a overly loud noise. Not even properly sure how to describe the sound. It was like multiple glitches noises at once. I had to save and close my session, and then switch audio devices to get it to stop. This is costing me money at this point. About to switch to Linux or Mac if this doesn't get resolved soon

Seems 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5053598) did the trick...?. - So, I'm all good too - problem fixed. Life is back to normal... Around the same time as Windows update, I had restarted my machine several times for another driver update (Nvidia) and weird balance-act for my for multiple screens... There was also sound update included in the video card update but I'm "fairly" certain that was unrelated to this BOSE issue... Regardless, happier now!
Yes I saw the notes. The fix for this was likely not documented, or the update included a fix unmentioned on its page. Thus the surprise, as the update entirely fixed my issue.
I've got Bose USB speakers, and after that update, they stay on until I turn off my PC or send it to sleep. They now stay on when I leave my PC to idle in desktop, ready to play sound. Which I'm very happy to report.
