As a workaround until Microsoft fixes it.
In new control panel, go to system, then sound. Keep that page open or minimized and the usb-audio device will not go to sleep even if no audio is played.

I have upgraded to Windows 11 24H2 (26100.712) and am having issues with getting my USB Audio systems to stay awake. Whenever there is no sound playing, my USB audio system turns itself off, thinking that there is no power to the USB port that it's connected to.
I've changed the setting in advanced power options to disable selective suspend, but this does not do anything. I've also disabled powering down the drive setting in Device Manager (for USB ports), and still no luck.
My machine is pretty much useless as a work machine now, as my USB audio (Bose Companion 5) system turns off within minutes of no audio, silencing my machine so I'm unable to hear notifications or calls.
This bug has only happened since installing 24H2, I've checked device manager and there seems to have been new drivers installed with this update, so potentially some changes there.

Just if it could help to locate where the problem comes from (and honestly just to complain because as a composer/sound designer, it's painful to just work and I'm frustrated... ^^), I use an USB M-Audio M-Track sound card which does not require any specific driver.

2024-11-29T21:25:00+00:00 Don Wise, were in the title or the initial post restricts the issue to Bose? It talks about USB audio, that is a known issue for 24H2 as far as I researched. It mentions behind parentheses that in his case affected a Bose system, but that is no restriction IMO.
Thank you for adding nothing to the discussion.
But adding to this USB audio issues trend, I was able to solve it by updating device firmware. So some compatibility issues between hardware and drivers might be the cause. Some cases will not be easy to fix as firmware updates are not always available or fix things.
