WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER STILL SHOWING HDD AS BOOT DEVICE

Hello there, I am having a very strange issue with my HP laptop, I purchased this laptop couple of years ago and few months back I decided to upgrade my laptop from HDD to SSD, so I purchased a NVMe gen4 SSD and to install new WINDOWS on SSD I disconnected my HDD and installed windows 11 on my SSD, Laptop worked perfectly fine for few months but now I noticed a very strange thing in my pc, i.e., tho my windows is installed in my SSD but in boot manager it still shows HDD as the boot device even I've tried resetting the HDD, next I tried to disconnect my HDD but as I do so my pc says "no boot device found" further when I opened BIOS my SSD is not listed in boot manager, Very weird right?? Next, I thought about reinstalling windows using USB installation media but none of my drives show up on the installation page even after installing drivers. I ran DISKPART but still my drives don't show up. Can someone tell and help me to fix this thing? Tho system works perfectly normal

Hi Sudhanshu,

Creating an EFI partition on Disk 1 should solve the problem.

From admin Command Prompt, run:

diskpart
select volume C
shrink desired=200
create partition efi size=200
sel disk 1
list part
exit

Post the output.

    So I don't have the ability to reset my main, I'm thinking I install windows on an expansion drive. Transfer everything I can from my 2 tb main drive to another, then format my main HD, install a fresh copy of windows. Then delete the windows partition on my expansion.

    Also, ASUS bios is out ofdate. They said it was my fault for trusting their MB updater Armoury Crate. Jerk told me it's too difficult to alert people by email when there is an update.

    Thanks. So don't delete the one you highlighted.

    Deleted the drive 0 labeled software. Tried installing on drive 1 again. I get.

    If your system use EFI from a SSD which you use just as extra storage and shows error when you try to use actual W11 SSD then I think you should re create efi in your W11 SSD as maybe a corrupted efi is the cause of problem.
