How to do this if I can’t enter to the pc?

Trying to boot from a usb stick In win 10 I get the message "Verifying shim SBAT data failed: Security Policy ViolationSomething has gone seriously wrong: SBAT self-check failed: Security Policy Violation" Can someone help me resolve it? Is this from the latest windows update?
This seems to have started right after a win update but I'm not sure if it's a coincident or not. Thanks for any help

Are you dual booting Windows with Linux?
If you are, this is caused by a reported problem in the August update if you can get into Windows, either uninstall the August update, or open Command Prompt as administrator and run this command, then press Enter.
reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecureBoot\SBAT /v OptOut /d 1 /t REG_DWORD
Then close Command Prompt
Tried this but didn't solve the problem. I was trying to boot into elementaryOS from my bootable USB.

Here are his instructions:
Amruth DD has replied to the question Verifying shim SBAT data failed: that you are following in Microsoft Support Community. Try pressing the F2 key repeatedly immediately after turning on the power. This should open the BIOS menu. Once the BIOS menu opens, navigate to the security/boot option (it may vary depending on the machine) and locate the "Secure Boot" option. Change it to "disabled". Save the changes.<br><br><br><br>This might work. -

2024-09-04T21:44:47+00:00 Hmm, it seems the reg add made things worse, it didn't help and afterwards I uninstalled the August update, but due to the registry change the important part was not uninstalled. Shouldn't the order be: first uninstall August update, then run the reg add command?
