I have done all the troubleshooting steps and update fixer, reset network through settings, deleted cache using command prompt and done all things using with forums or troubleshooting but still issue is not resolved.

From being a 29 year with Windows, they screwed this one up.

I went through EVERYTHING on this. This is the same issue that showed up in a lot of the Windows Vista updates pertaining to a failed winsock setup.

I did all of the ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew. Nope

I did the regedits to change the start of the dhcp to be 2 and 3 instead of 4. Nope

I kicked on IPv6 as a test- Nope

I ran netsh winsock resets as well as the network reset option in settings/network and internet/network reset. Nope

I got into the DNS services and found that error 1068 was being passed because the DNS client wasn't loading. I went into the adapter settings under IPv4 and manually added an 8.8.8.8 to the DNS settings to fix the issue. Here's the kicker. The wifi task icon at the bottom did not change. It still shows as 'no internet' BUT the internet is working. Hopefully, this helps you guys. Your 8.8.8.8 might need to be changed to your local dns if you have one for a faster response. I'm glad this happened to my home machine before deploying it to all works machines. -Jim Ponder

How can you download the modem's driver if there is no wi-fi to go on the Internet???

I went and uninstalled the update, but the thing is like a nightmare and it reinstalled itself immediately.

Everything seemed to work fine except for the wi-fi. No Internet access, no other networks, it's like the modem is gone from the machine. (Acer Laptop)

Anything new that can be done without having to do Microsoft's work, 'cause I'm good with the Device Manager, but I don't want to play with the command prompt.

I rolled back to the previous Windows version.

I updated the MediaTek driver on my HP laptop using Norton's driver update program, as the HP driver download site is useless. I really recommend Norton's driver update service. It scanned and brought up a number of drivers that needed updating (none of which were suggested by Microsoft update or the HP smart assist). I update each driver individually in the list, as some require restart. I was then able to install 11 24H2 and everything works.

    Hi Arvind,

I have followed all the listed steps and was successful in reestablishing my WiFi connection on my 10-year old Asus TP500L. Thank you for your detailed instructions.

Had same problem on my older Acer Aspire E15.

Changed the wifi adapter to the Microsoft version (vs Intel), restarted, and now wifi works great.

My audio also did not work after updating to 24H2. Went to Acer website, downloaded updated audio driver and installed. Now audio works.

NOTE: I also downloaded the latest wifi driver from Acer, but it DID NOT work. Had to go back to MS driver.
