Why is my network messed up after update to windows 11 24H2

Hello, after updating win 11 23H2 to 24H2 several "computers" are disappeared under the "network"pane in windows explorer.

The day before updating, all computers were attached to my network and visible in windows file explorer.

After update to 24H2 they were gone!

I did see that after updating the option for media streaming were turned off.

I put The media streaming option on again, but that was not the solution.

    Meanwhile I could solve the issue with my Synology NAS and Win11 24H2.

    I had to chenge in group policies under Computer Configuration- Windows Settings- Local Policies- Security Options the setting

    Network security: Restrict NTLM outgoing  :allow all

    After that, access to shared folder was as before in 23H2, I even didn't need to allow the insecure guest login to see my NAS in the network neighbourhood.

    This worked for 3 PCs AMD and Intel installing 24H2.

    Surpisingly it worked without changing anything on a fourth PC which I upgraded on Friday to 24H2, maybe ther was a recent update of 24H2 which solved the issue?

    I think you are confused. This thread is about loss of visibility of NAS drives and other computers on a User's local network, not lack of connectivity to the Internet.

    The exact same thig happened to me on Windows 11. HOLLY ****. WHO IN THE **** IS TESTING THINGS AT MICROSOFT THAT THEY WOULD DO A MAJOR RELEASE THAT TOTALLY BREAKS USERS' CONNECTIONS TO THE INTERNET?

    THIS IS TOTALLY BEYOND STUPID.

    Thanks for input but yes, I've tried all that plus what's been suggested in this and other similar threads on this website and the wider Internet. Note that I had no problem accessing my Conceptronic NAS drives for years under various previous versions of Windows until this recent Windows 11 24H2 update. Clearly, something has been broken by Microsoft and needs to be fixed.

    Did you enable Netbios in your network connection ?

    Control panel > Network and Internet > Network connections
    right-click on properties
    select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties
    go to the WINS tab and enable NetBios over TCP/IP

    click Ok till you exit the network connection.
    Restart your PC

    When you have a Synology NAS, Enable Windows network discovery to allow file access via SMB in the SMB tab in file services.
