2024-09-28T20:12:59+00:00 Yes, you can copy over the entire old drivers folder to your new install, but you should proceed with caution.
Before doing anything, create a restore point to ensure you can revert the system
back to a working state if something goes wrong.
Type "Create a restore point" in the Windows search bar.
Click Create under the "System Protection" tab.
Follow the prompts to complete the restore point creation.
Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and create a backup of this folder by copying it to another location on your drive or an external device. This will give you a fallback in case the replacement causes issues.
Copy the drivers folder from your old install to the same location (C:\Windows\System32\drivers) on the new install.
You will likely need to overwrite existing files. Make sure you do this only after backing up the current drivers.
After replacing the folder, restart your system to allow Windows to recognize and load the copied drivers.
