switch pro controller not detected by pc on a new install

my pc (new install) doesnt detect my switch controller while wired, it doesnt make a noise when i connect it either, does anyone know why, usb port and cable are both fine as they worked before on my old install

    nope but it was working on that install, so maybe if i copy the drivers over (any of the serialbus) drivers it will work

    i still have access to the old install btw, its on my old starting to die ssd, its still stable though, would copying over any of the drivers work? its clearly a driver issue... as its not detected at all, no noise no charging... no nothing

    have tried those drivers aswel... also working with some other issues like windows update troubleshooting

    Sorry, I wasn't too clear on my instructions. If you're using a desktop, please try on the front ports, or if you have one, try a non USB 3.0 port.
