switch pro controller not detected by pc on a new install

my pc (new install) doesnt detect my switch controller while wired, it doesnt make a noise when i connect it either, does anyone know why, usb port and cable are both fine as they worked before on my old install

    the drivers that i could copy i over i did but to no avail... anything else that i could try (i could copy over most of the files sadly)

    i also restarted explorer so i dont think that'd work, cant i just restore from the restore point?

    uh it just put copy after evry single driver, anyway to only delete the ones that have - copy behind them so i can try again

    Yes, you can copy over the entire old drivers folder to your new install, but you should proceed with caution.

    Before doing anything, create a restore point to ensure you can revert the system

    back to a working state if something goes wrong.

    Type "Create a restore point" in the Windows search bar.

    Click Create under the "System Protection" tab.

    Follow the prompts to complete the restore point creation.

    Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and create a backup of this folder by copying it to another location on your drive or an external device. This will give you a fallback in case the replacement causes issues.

    Copy the drivers folder from your old install to the same location (C:\Windows\System32\drivers) on the new install.

    You will likely need to overwrite existing files. Make sure you do this only after backing up the current drivers.

    After replacing the folder, restart your system to allow Windows to recognize and load the copied drivers.
