switch pro controller not detected by pc on a new install

my pc (new install) doesnt detect my switch controller while wired, it doesnt make a noise when i connect it either, does anyone know why, usb port and cable are both fine as they worked before on my old install

    hey i know its been a while and you might not anwser, it just doesnt want to charge now, its working, it just doesnt charge via the pc, any idea why? its not that big of a deal as i can still use it... i did reinstall the drivers bc it fully stopped working but its back to working again, its just not charging... do you know how to fix this?

    Edit: it doesnt charge at all anymore pc or not... it might just be full so ill play with it for a few hours to see if battery drains otherwise i guess my controller is just dead
