If your speakers stopped working after installing updates, it could be due to a driver issue or a configuration change. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem-

Check Sound Settings-

• Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar and select Open Sound settings.
• Make sure the correct output device (e.g., your speakers) is selected. If the wrong device is selected, click on the dropdown and choose the correct one.

Check Sound Enhancements-

• Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar and select Sounds.
• In the Playback tab, right-click your speaker and select Properties.
• Go to the Enhancements tab and check the box that Disable all enhancements. Sometimes, enhancements can interfere with audio output.

Run the Windows Troubleshooter-

• Press Win + I to open Settings.
• Go to System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
• Scroll down to Playing Audio and click Run. Follow the steps to diagnose and fix sound issues.

Update or Reinstall Audio Drivers-

• Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
• Expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
• Right-click on your audio device (e.g., Realtek or other sound drivers) and choose Update driver.
• If updating doesn’t work, try uninstalling the device and restarting your PC. Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.
