After updating to the new Windows 11h2, some machines experienced network issues with both cable and Wi-Fi. They connect but don’t get network access and receive an IP address starting with 169…, resulting in no internet or network connection. I updated drivers, firmware, and reset the network settings. The machines’ MAC addresses haven’t changed. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Thank you! This completely fixed my issue. It’s the only solution I’ve found. The give away for me was that the connection was showing two active networks, and was unable to properly setup the DHCP connection on IPv4 only.
After making this registry edit and restarting the service everything is working properly. Total lifesaver!

Is Windows file-sharing enabled on that "one" machine?
Is it configured into the same domain as the others?
Does its "hostname" confusingly match the "hostname" of any of the other computers on your network?
A little update for who is still searching for a solution and don't want to touch regedit and stuff like that: I had to format my PC because I joined the Insider program (Dev channel) in order to receive a quicker fix and after reinstalling Windows 11 24H2 APPARENTLY for now the problem has disappeared.
I couldn't find a good ISO for the 23H2 version.
Sometimes, "MajorGeeks.com" has older versions of software.
On that site, I found a reference:
https://windows-11.en.softonic.com
that claims to be "22H2".
Of course, downloading from any non-official site is not recommended.
Tried this today in our network with no solution. The Connection icon changed to showing a connection, but still no internet. Through further troubleshooting with this specific laptop. We are getting DHCP on both ethernet and WiFi without issue. I am unable to get to anything through DNS however I can navigate via IP and ping 8.8.8.8 outside of the network. Whatever is happening appears to be DNS related, setting a static IP also did not resolve the issue nor changing the DNS manually.
