Problem in network Windows 11 24h2

After updating to the new Windows 11h2, some machines experienced network issues with both cable and Wi-Fi. They connect but don’t get network access and receive an IP address starting with 169…, resulting in no internet or network connection. I updated drivers, firmware, and reset the network settings. The machines’ MAC addresses haven’t changed. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

    Same for me. I have a Gigabyte Z390 Pro WiFi board with an Intel Ethernet Connection I219-V network adapter and nothing seems to fix the internet drops. Reset the connection, reloaded the driver, turned off IPV6 and checked the numerous suggestions on the forum and elsewhere to fix the problem. Nothing fixes the issue. I'm shocked that a Windows 11 update can have such an effect on a network connection. Shame on you Microsoft!

    I just downloaded Windows update KB5048667. No joy. Internet still drops out every few minutes.

    Hi,

    Same issue on Lenovo laptops, fixed in registry as view in a minitool forum

    Step 1: Press Win + R together to open the Run dialog box, type regedit, and press Enter.

    Step 2: In the pop-up UAC window, click the Yes button to grant administrator permission.

    Step 3: Navigate to the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WcmSvc

    Step 4: Find and double-click the DependOnService entry in the right pane.

    Step 5: In the pop-up interface, remove WinHTTPAutoProxySvc from the list, leaving only RpcSs and NSI.

    Step 6: Click the Ok button to save the change.

    Restart your PC to check whether these internet/Wi-Fi issues in Windows 11 24H2 are solved.

    I tried this but no joy. Seemed to work fine for a bit, then my internet connection dropped. A while later, during video playback, the PC locked up twice for about 20 seconds each time, both then recovering as the windows came back to life. PC locks ups hadn't ever happened before this. I removed this potential fix after my internet connection dropped out a 2nd time.

    Thanks, Christophe for offering this latest possible fix, but I'm still broke using my Intel Ethernet Connection I219-V network adapter. I'm back on my WiFi connection and it's working without issue.

    I still love my high-speed ethernet internet connection vice using WiFi. Come on Microsoft. What's the solution/fix????
