Problem in network Windows 11 24h2

After updating to the new Windows 11h2, some machines experienced network issues with both cable and Wi-Fi. They connect but don’t get network access and receive an IP address starting with 169…, resulting in no internet or network connection. I updated drivers, firmware, and reset the network settings. The machines’ MAC addresses haven’t changed. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Microsoft changed the WiFi access and the correspondig APIs, read here.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/nativewifi/wi-fi-access-location-changes

you need to allow location services in settings. If all options are greyed out there are chances that you used an antivirus or another software solution to reduce MS 'home-calls'. You need to reset that.

    best regards

I think the solution might be to disconnect all peripherals, try the upgrade, and then reconnect them one at a time. Let's see.

I found that I cannot access my network, including shared network drives and NAS, when I use IEEE b/n/ac/ax on 5G. I can use IEEE b/n/ac with no problems at all. Every once in a while I cannot use the network card at all, until I reset the PC. I'm using a Realtek 8852CE WiFi 6E PCI-E NIC, which is internal to my laptop (HP Envy).

All this started with version 24H2. Before 24H2 everything network wise was fine.
