Problem in network Windows 11 24h2

After updating to the new Windows 11h2, some machines experienced network issues with both cable and Wi-Fi. They connect but don’t get network access and receive an IP address starting with 169…, resulting in no internet or network connection. I updated drivers, firmware, and reset the network settings. The machines’ MAC addresses haven’t changed. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

    Anyone with network issues after the Windows 11 24H2 update. If your on your own private network without any login credentials needed for sharing try using this as a fix.

    1.      Select Start, type gpedit.msc, and select Edit group policy.

    1. In the left pane under Local Computer Policy, navigate to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Lanman Workstation.
    2. Open Enable insecure guest logons, select Enabled, then select OK.

    24H2 has a modification that they did not bother to publish. It affected my NAS When I did the upgrade to 24H2, my networked devices would not respond properly.

    The SMB communication utility got left off of the upgrade package. A computer repair friend of mine told me about it. The fix is to turn on the SMB communications protocol in windows features for all machines and NAS units that are involve and the issue goes away.

    SGeorge_716: have you read through this thread, and have tried some of the suggestions that were posted?

    Can the IT Department that manages the work network help you, if you bring your Surface to their office, and show them the issue?

    I can get on any network - except my work network.

    I was the only person in the building using my Microsoft Surface 5 laptop computer while the networked computers in the building were down because of the crash. When IT did the fix and reboot of the system, I got booted off the internet and have never been able to get back on. This is frustrating because I bought this laptop especially for work.

    Please advise and provide a fix to this problem?
