After updating to the new Windows 11h2, some machines experienced network issues with both cable and Wi-Fi. They connect but don’t get network access and receive an IP address starting with 169…, resulting in no internet or network connection. I updated drivers, firmware, and reset the network settings. The machines’ MAC addresses haven’t changed. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Thank you! This completely fixed my issue. It’s the only solution I’ve found. The give away for me was that the connection was showing two active networks, and was unable to properly setup the DHCP connection on IPv4 only.
After making this registry edit and restarting the service everything is working properly. Total lifesaver!
This thread is all over the map now, but in regards to the network connection problem after updating to Windows 11 24H2, here is the issue we discovered.
Symptom: After the 24H2 update, the PC would boot up and show connected to the network for a few moments and then disconnect. (Wired and Wireless).
In our environment, the WPAD service had been disabled for security reasons. After the update, the Windows Network Connection Manager Service is dependant on WPAD service running before it will start. We were able to work around the issue by removing the WPAD dependency from WNCMS in the registry.Ultimately, re-enabling the WPAD service (which is default for Windows) will allow the WNCM service to start normally and network resources will be available.
FYI to anyone, I was able to fix my lack of network connectivity in Windows 11 24H2 with the following action.
I am using Windows Server DHCP services.
DHCP option 43 was enabled, but not being used. Simply by deleting option 43 from the DHCP server options that allowed 24H2 to properly receive an IP address. I realize this is limited to a lot of people, but hopefully it will help someone. Good luck.

The issue I'm having after installing Windows 11 update 24H2; is I can see all of my 7 machines on the same network; but cannot access any of them from one of the machines. However, I can access the machine with the issue (the machine with the problem) with no problem.
Example:
STA 2 has a problem with connecting to 7 PCs after the Windows 11 update 24H2. STA 2 sees all 7 PCs.
The 7 PCS can, however, access STA 2 with no problem.
Windows 11 update 24H2 has also removed "Word Pad" from your computer.
Are there any workarounds for this problem?
