Problem in network Windows 11 24h2

After updating to the new Windows 11h2, some machines experienced network issues with both cable and Wi-Fi. They connect but don’t get network access and receive an IP address starting with 169…, resulting in no internet or network connection. I updated drivers, firmware, and reset the network settings. The machines’ MAC addresses haven’t changed. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Well, I tried 24h2 again, and it installs perfectly, but alas, there is no home networking. It keeps asking me for my network password even when I have told it to go passwordless. I'm not too fond of it when computers make you look stupid. For an old ex-Gateway employee, this is ridiculous. I don't even have Wi-Fi enabled. I am direct to the router with both computers and it's the same with both. Teach me to believe in another multi-billion dollar crazy **** computer company. Is it Linux time again?

Sorry no it didn't work. Samething. I have internet access but no home networking capability. I can't see my network. I see the shortcuts to the other folders on the other computer but it keeps asking me for my password I enter it and it doesn't accept it. Thanks for the help.

I tried this but no joy. Seemed to work fine for a bit, then my internet connection dropped. A while later, during video playback, the PC locked up twice for about 20 seconds each time, both then recovering as the windows came back to life. PC locks ups hadn't ever happened before this. I removed this potential fix after my internet connection dropped out a 2nd time.

Thanks, Christophe for offering this latest possible fix, but I'm still broke using my Intel Ethernet Connection I219-V network adapter. I'm back on my WiFi connection and it's working without issue.

I still love my high-speed ethernet internet connection vice using WiFi. Come on Microsoft. What's the solution/fix????
