Windows 11, "no audio devices found" both input and output. What happened to my speakers in the laptop?

Just to amplify a point here: Check the manufacturer's website. I have a Dell laptop that had this problem (I think due to a Norton "outdated-driver" replacement gone wrong) . After struggling for 2 days, I found a page on the Dell website devoted to this very issue. It had a download link to the appropriate RealTec driver. Ten minutes later I had my sound back, good as new.

Thanks for your reply but I’ve been on the HP website numerous times with no luck. My Realtec driver is not showing up on my HP system, nor any Sound category (it disappeared 2 days ago)

Share the hardware device I'd realtek audio chip

I have an Asus Zenbook S16 (Ryzen AI hx 365 processor). The sound will drop at random times, often in as little as 10 minutes after the machine is booting. Certainly 5 times a day or more! The only repeatable solution is to reboot.

Sometimes I can uninstall the driver and scan for changes, which reinstalls the driver. When the driver is reinstalled, it no longer says, "Speaker and Mic not Found", it finds the Realtek driver but sometimes it does not work.

In device manager (Windows High Definition Audio Driver) it says :

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

This is perhaps an error that window should NOT stop the device because it has reported problems?
