2024-10-21T04:12:10+00:00 Just to amplify a point here: Check the manufacturer's website. I have a Dell laptop that had this problem (I think due to a Norton "outdated-driver" replacement gone wrong) . After struggling for 2 days, I found a page on the Dell website devoted to this very issue. It had a download link to the appropriate RealTec driver. Ten minutes later I had my sound back, good as new.
Thanks for your reply but I’ve been on the HP website numerous times with no luck. My Realtec driver is not showing up on my HP system, nor any Sound category (it disappeared 2 days ago)
I’m so frustrated.
