Windows 11, version 24H2 won't install

i did the pc health check and mine does meet all requirements it could be low memory i'll try to uninstall some stuff and see if that helps. games i barely play delete photo albums i got or move em to empty USB Drive.

Question is at what stage does it go wrong and is it one of the ones that Microsoft has invited for an update. The non invited ones you are suppose to not touch. If you do and it goes wrong then you might be into weeks of problem solving. The Windows Download 11 page with the ISO file. You download, right click admin rights etc, creates a pseudo drive. Run it but don't do the preferred up date drivers now gives you the best error code. Google that. That's your starting point. Many Microsoft error codes aren't clear. It where it goes wrong is a key one at 30% or 70%. You aren't suppose to have non Microsoft virus checking programs installed. Low level programs that aren't Microsoft is another one. There are some drivers that won't get above 30%. If it stops at 70% memory security integrity of a driver could be it. Microsoft tool to find them. One trick pony here since that was my issue after weeks. If it's that all the rest of the stuff on net stop, start blah won't help. It's not that. The net stop start blah... can be achieved with an inplace reinstall of Windows 11 23h2 if on it. That's just a clean inplace re install of the OP then you try the update again. All the witchcraft solutions you see on the net of hacking 23h2 Windows 11 to clean it before the upgrade can be done easily by the inplace re-install.

Farbar gives you an analysis of what's on the PC and comb that. Take a copy of the drivers and becareful of what you update. Some tell you to but I got one driver that was non compliant with Windows 11 24h2 that took it out at 30% when previously it was getting to 70%. A Google and I found that was a known issue with that driver. Where the 30 / 70 comes in to gauge at what stage the process goes wrong. Prep is before 70%, at 70% is applying the upgrade. That's when the memory integrity of the drivers is tested, the HVCI test you can do yourself which isolates the issue if that.

Windows 24h2 is a self inflicted wound. Changing the spec to tighten up security, they would have to untighten it. You got till next year till security updates will run out on 23h2. 25h2 is to continue with Windows 11 so the story goes. They got themselves in a bind.

It would seem to make the problem worse with a new bunch of users coming over. It's what the users have put on the machine which is outside Microsoft’s control if they don't relax the security in 24h2 Windows 11. My take on it.

It's a dreadful thing. And I think it's even against the law in Europe. So...
