I am Having the same issues discussed in this thread. i have tried everything and the reader is still not pulling certs from the CAC.
We upgraded to 24H2 and now our SCR3310 card reader is no longer recognized and we now cannot log in with our CAC card. Is there a fix?

We downloaded latest drivers, removed and reinstalled the driver, tried different USB ports. It shows up as working properly in Device Mgr but that's it. The light won't come on, it ignores the reader. Help.

I have fixed this issue in the dumbest way possible.
I went to Device Manager, then under Smart Card readers, I right-clicked the card reader, then uninstalled the driver (uninstall device).
Rebooted my computer. Works. I hate it.
fake edit: my guess is Windows thinks they're the world's savior and are doing the smart card reader "in-house" and any middleware even made by the vendor is seen as a foreign process getting in the way of glorious MS's in-house process for smart card reading and its delivery.

2024-12-20T09:04:20+00:00 -Run Regedit.exe:
• Go to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Calais
-Check the permissions for LOCAL SERVICE (if not there, add it). Make it "Full Control":
• Right-click on the key (Calais) and select "Permissions..." from the pop-up menu
• Click on LOCAL SERVICE to select it
• Allow "Full Control"
That's worked on my customers.
Don't miss to reboot computer to have change correctly updated.
This confirm that upgrade had an issue and windows do nothing about it....

*I gave all available profiles full control. Not Sure if that is correct, but it worked.*
