Troubleshoot audio issues in Windows 11 24H2 No audio Realtek Dell 8940 Reinstalled recent Driver 6.0.9486.1, A55

Sound does not work with any output device. It started recently and seems to have started after installing the latest 24H2 Windows & Preview.

I am running OS Build 26100.2454 Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.36.0

    I encountered this issue about a month ago.

    After installing Windows 11 24H2 (build 26100), I lost all sound, and in the Device Manager, the only audio device listed is Nvidia Virtual Audio Device. The Realtek audio device is completely missing.

    Steps I have taken so far:

    1. After a clean installation of Windows 11 24H2 (build 26100), I installed all updates and the necessary drivers.
    2. I downloaded the audio driver from the official website of my motherboard manufacturer (MSI).
    3. I physically removed my GPU (RTX 3070) from the system and reinstalled the audio drivers.
    4. I tried uninstalling all audio devices listed under "Sound, video, and game controllers" in the Device Manager.

    Despite these efforts, nothing has worked, and currently, I can only listen to sound through the AUX output of my monitor.

    Then I think you need to deal with NVidia if you have Nvidea graphics installed. You might be able to switch where you wish to route your sound via the Nvidea configuration software. I have no clue otherwise.

    I dont seem to have the Realtek driver thing there, i only have NVIDIA HD audio and NVIDIA virtual audio device
