Phone link error 256 with S22 Ultra

I have had Phone link working for years with my Samsung Galaxy S22 ultra.

Recently, part of the functionality stopped working, specifically, the "open phone screen" part. I keep getting an error 256.

The phone is on Wifi, connected to a Ubiquiti NanoHD.

The PC is a desktop on 10 Gbps ethernet.

Both are in the same /24 subnet, using DHCP with IP reservations in the router.

The phone says it's connected to the PC. The PC says the phone is connected to it.

I can see the phone's text messages & photos on the PC.

I just can't open the phone screen on my PC, or show any app on my PC's screen.

    Can confirm, the capability is back. Once permission was granted, everything started to work as expected.

    i guess our only option in the meantime is to rollback the windows update? I tried contacting microsoft and windows on social media about it but no response.

    I am having the same issue. I have 2 S21 Ultras and 3 computers: one with Windows 11 24H2, one with 22H2, and one with 23H2. The newest and oldest are on the same account and all on the same network. The app works, however, I can't display the screen on any machine. Tried restarting all devices, and disconnecting Bluetooth, on all the devices and can't get it to show the screen.

    I started doing that out of frustration too. I haven't got there yet, but I see the screen change here and there. Hopefully it will finally work for me too.

    Thanks. Unfortunately, I had already tried that.

    Today, I'm getting a different symptom - both sides say they are disconnected. I'm not sure what changed.

    Then, the PC side tells me to open and scan a new QR code to reconnect. I do so on my S22 Ultra. And the phone tells me it's an invalid QR code.
