Phone link error 256 with S22 Ultra

I have had Phone link working for years with my Samsung Galaxy S22 ultra.

Recently, part of the functionality stopped working, specifically, the "open phone screen" part. I keep getting an error 256.

The phone is on Wifi, connected to a Ubiquiti NanoHD.

The PC is a desktop on 10 Gbps ethernet.

Both are in the same /24 subnet, using DHCP with IP reservations in the router.

The phone says it's connected to the PC. The PC says the phone is connected to it.

I can see the phone's text messages & photos on the PC.

I just can't open the phone screen on my PC, or show any app on my PC's screen.

    Weeks? Stop with the FUD. It started on the 19th. Not even 7 days and it's fixed.

    I went down that road earlier today. Using this site, Older versions of Phone Link (Windows) | Uptodown, I downgraded the Phone Link app from the most recent version to Oct 8, 1.24092.68.0 version, one version at a time with no change in behaviour. I uninstalled KB5046617 with no change in behaviour. I contacted MS Support on X and after asking me a dozen questions told me to contact 1:1 support via their site. It's Ignite week and I doubt anyone cares about the Phone app at this time... Unless it's getting AI...

    anyone find a fix yet? Usually a pc reboot/phone restart combo usually fixes these types of errors but still nothing. I assume we will have to wait till a hotfix comes out?

    Getting exact same error on my S24 Ultra. Had no issues a couple of days ago and now error 256. Can mirror screen, open apps, etc. States connected, can see notifications, installed apps, etc. but no running apps.

    I am having a similar issue with my z fold 6. Everything was working fine until yesterday, and now even though messages and notifications are still working Apps are not. I am getting that 256 error when trying to run an App.
