Probably doesn't help, but the issue solved itself for me in the last couple days, by itself. Can't really say the exact time because I was running with my realtek audio device turned off anyway and just today I tried turning it on to test, and it was working normally.

Hi, thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard a Windows fan like you. I'll be happy to help you out today, my timezone is UTC +8.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to help, is there any particular error message or code when you try to play music? or is there no audio at all? do you get an X mark on the Audio icon?

In addition, seems that there is an incompatibility with the audio driver, moreover, kindly follow the steps below for us to sort out the issue:

    Method 1. Run Audio troubleshooter:

Press the Windows Key + R then type in:

    msdt.exe /id AudioPlaybackDiagnostic

Then hit OK and follow the prompt to run Audio Troubleshooter.

Method 2. Roll Back Audio driver:

-Press the Windows key + X
    -Go to Device Manager
-Expand the Sound, video and game controller
-Look for Realtek (R) Audio or High Definition audio
    -Right-click and click "Update Driver"
-Look for "Browse my computer for driver"
-Click "Let me pick drivers available drivers on my computer"
-Choose an old driver or other driver name then select it and hit next until it installs.

Note: If the issue persists, please download and install an Audio driver from your manufacturer's website.

Let me know how it goes and I hope that helps.

    Bernard

Unfortunately, the Realtek drivers are missing and won't update. It's been going on for 2 weeks now. I spent 7 hours with Microsoft support yesterday and they basically said they can't help.
