One thing I want to point out is - at least for me - it's not just creating a duplicate SMS group - the messages are split between the two (or more) groups - meaning that one of the groups shows MY messages - and the duplicate group has the replies from the other members. I tried going to the other group to write messages, thinking that would be where ALL of them would be - instead it either created a THIRD group or the roles flipped (and the group that previously had their replies will have only my messages and vice versa). Very odd behavior. The main issue I have with it is the split of the messages - if both/all groups had all messages, and they were JUST duplicates - it wouldn't be that big of a deal - but - having the messages appear in two separate groups make it wholly unusable.
I have a Samsung S24 Ultra that is up to date with Phone Link v1.25021.67.0 and this occurs regardless of which PC I currently have Phone Link running on (Win11 Lenovo notebook, Win11 clone Office PC, HP AIO PC, Dell Optiplex Win10 PCs I use - randomly happens everywhere - but - once it happens to a group - it never stops - I can delete ALL copies of the group, and the next 1.25021.67.0time I send a message to those people, it creates the duplicate group. From my phone - any of the groups work as their supposed to - it's ONLY a Phone Link related issue as far as I can tell. As stated, it's not consistent - but - it *seems* to definitely happen when the group I am texting is a mixture of iPhone and Android users - I cannot be 100% sure of this - since I don't know the brand/OS of every phone of everyone in every group I am texting - but - there are some groups where my messages are only in one location - some where MY messages are in one group - and all of their replies are in another - both groups have the same people listed in them.
Also - another symptom was occurring, but stopped a couple of weeks ago - when the "clone SMS group" was created, it would have the people in the original group PLUS it would add in one REALLY long email-looking address - here is one from an old group:
I can assure you that this is NOT an address that I typed in there, have in anyone's contact record, or was in the SMS group before the clone group showed up - it only appeared along with the creation of the duplicate group.
Again - this additional address does not seem to be part of the issue anymore - but - maybe this might shed some light on the original cause of the issue.
Appreciate any feedback / suggestions you might have - Thanks!
