Update with success this time!
Following IT Administrators steps, I had to change one step that was stopping me from seeing my Brother MFC device name.
For myself I had to modify step #3. When I proceeded to the final part of #3 I was only seeing the Generic software device and a WSD Scan Device. My Brother device was not showing. In fact, no other devices were being displayed other than the two I mentioned. The CHECKBOX above the device list window was CHECKED and only showing me the Generic software device and a WSD Scan Device. Unchecking the "Show compatible hardware" checkbox then opened up all of the Manufacturers / Models available. I was then able to locate my Brother Model in the split pane windows and complete the steps with success.
I do not know WHY this checkbox is defaulted to being checked. And I do not understand WHY none of the manufactures models are considered "NOT compatible hardware".
Thanks to everyone for their posts.
It is a sad day when the manufacturers websites are unable to post such a simple solution in detail to assist their customers with this major issue.
Good to know and happy that you figured out 1 more tweak there in step 3 and posted here.
